NeuScience publishes various types of scientific contributions. Please select the article type that best matches your research and follow the specific guidelines for that type.
Research Article

Description: Full-length reports of original research. Must include comprehensive methodology allowing reproducibility, complete results, and thorough discussion of implications. This is our primary article type for reporting new scientific findings.
Structure: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, References
Review Article

Description: Comprehensive, critical analyses of recent developments in a specific field. Should synthesize existing literature, identify knowledge gaps, and suggest future research directions. We welcome both narrative reviews and systematic reviews/meta-analyses.
Systematic Reviews: Must follow PRISMA guidelines and include detailed search strategy, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and quality assessment.
Structure: Flexible, but typically: Introduction, [Topic Sections], Discussion/Future Directions, Conclusions
Brief Communication

Description: Short reports of particularly novel or significant findings that warrant rapid publication. Ideal for preliminary results, negative results of importance, new methods, or findings that need quick dissemination.
Requirements: High novelty and impact; complete but concise; must stand alone as a complete report

Description: Detailed analysis of specific cases that provide unique insights, demonstrate rare phenomena, or illustrate important principles. Particularly welcome in clinical sciences, environmental science, and engineering.
Structure: Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, Conclusions, Learning Points
Commentary / Perspective

Description: Opinion pieces that present a unique viewpoint on current scientific issues, recent publications, or emerging trends. Should be thought-provoking and stimulate discussion.
Note: Authors should have relevant expertise. First-person perspective is acceptable.
Letter to the Editor

Description: Brief comments on recently published articles in NeuScience. May offer constructive criticism, additional data, alternative interpretations, or supportive evidence. Authors of the original article will be invited to respond.
Submission: Must be submitted within 6 months of original article publication
