Author Responsibilities
- All co-authors must have made substantial contributions and approved the final submission
- Data must be accurately reported — fabrication or falsification constitutes misconduct
- Manuscripts must be original work not published or under review elsewhere
- All sources of funding and competing interests must be disclosed
- Human and animal studies must report ethics approval reference numbers
- Informed consent must be obtained from individuals whose data or images are included
Plagiarism
All submissions are screened for plagiarism using automated tools prior to peer review. Submissions with substantial unattributed overlap with existing published work will be rejected at the desk review stage.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any personal, financial, or professional relationships that could influence their decisions. Competing interests are published alongside all accepted articles.

Reporting Misconduct
Suspected research misconduct, authorship disputes, or editorial concerns should be reported to ethics@neuscience.org. All reports are treated in confidence and investigated in accordance with COPE procedures.
Artificial Intelligence
AI language tools may not be listed as authors. Authors must disclose in the Methods section if AI tools were used to assist in writing, data analysis, or figure preparation, and describe how outputs were verified.
