NeuScience is a new, online, open-access journal published by NeucitePress for research connected to human health. Use this page to evaluate the journal before submitting a manuscript, accepting an editorial appointment or recommending it to a colleague. It brings together the journal’s identity, editorial expectations and evidence of current status.
Updated 6 October 2026. The inaugural collection is planned for April 2027. The journal is recruiting its founding editorial team. Published policies describe requirements; appointments, indexing, identifiers and preservation need their own verifiable evidence.

Editorial values and selection
The scientific question must fit the scope, the methods must be appropriate, and the evidence must support the conclusions. Editors consider originality and the importance of the question alongside validity, ethics, reporting and relevance. A well-designed replication, negative result or methods contribution can be considered when it has a clear contribution. Submission is not an entitlement to review or acceptance.
Editorial judgment must remain independent of APC income, waiver decisions, sponsors and personal relationships. A conflicted editor must recuse themselves; editor-authored work requires independent handling. Recruitment, a collection invitation or a manuscript-processing payment cannot secure acceptance. Research and publication quality requirements
These are editorial requirements, not a certification that every submission has passed them. Text overlap, references and image concerns require interpretation by accountable editors. No routine commercial plagiarism subscription, forensic screening coverage or automatic integrity clearance is claimed. Authors should read the actual procedures rather than infer a screening service from a badge.

The complete indexing, identifiers and preservation register explains the services separately, provides official verification links and identifies the evidence needed for a status change. No indexing date, retrospective coverage or future citation score is promised.
Before choosing NeuScience as an author
Read the scope and selection criteria, confirm your institution’s and funder’s publication requirements, and review the fee terms before starting. If your award, promotion, thesis or funder requires a journal already covered by a particular index, the current unconfirmed coverage must be considered in that decision. A future application cannot satisfy a requirement for current inclusion.
Check preparation instructions and Word templates, fees and waivers, reuse rights and the availability of performance data. There are no validated acceptance or turnaround statistics before launch. The journal does not make a fixed 21-day first-decision promise. Ask the office about scope or a policy that affects your submission; an informal response is not acceptance.
Before joining as an editor
Read the founding roles, responsibilities and application requirements. Confirm the editorial mandate, decision authority, recusal procedure, expected workload, appointment term, support arrangements and any compensation in writing before accepting. A public profile should identify a real appointment with the individual’s agreement, institution, expertise and role.
The scientific editor assesses the manuscript and reviews; the editorial office manages records and communication; the publisher supports the platform and production. Operational access alone does not establish a public editorial appointment. Candidates should be able to ask how conflicts, guest collections, complaints and editorial decisions are supervised.
What remains to be established before launch
The immediate development priorities are accountable editorial appointments, a confirmed journal identifier, documented DOI registration and metadata deposits, independent preservation arrangements, a clear continuing publication schedule, and complete publisher/contact particulars. Each requires an operational decision or external confirmation, not only a policy page.
Index applications follow eligibility and a genuine published record. The journal’s evaluation pathway is described on the indexing page. Passing a minimum eligibility threshold does not ensure acceptance by an index, and software tests or synthetic manuscripts are not a research publication record.
