Publication Ethics

NeuScience is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. We follow the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Author Responsibilities

Originality: Submitted work must be original and not published elsewhere or under concurrent review.
Data integrity: All data must be accurately reported. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting is prohibited.
Authorship: All listed authors must meet ICMJE criteria. Ghost and gift authorship are not permitted.
Conflicts of interest: All financial and non-financial conflicts must be declared.
Plagiarism: Manuscripts are screened with anti-plagiarism tools. Undisclosed verbatim copying is unacceptable.
Ethics approval: Research involving human participants or animals must have appropriate institutional approval.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviews must be conducted objectively and without personal bias.
Confidentiality of submitted manuscripts must be maintained at all times.
Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest and decline when appropriate.

Editorial Responsibilities

Editors make decisions based solely on scientific merit.
Editors must recuse themselves from any manuscript where a conflict of interest exists.

Handling Misconduct

Suspected misconduct will be investigated following COPE flowcharts. Consequences may include rejection, retraction, or notification of the author institution. Contact: editorial@neuscience.org
