NeuScience publishes the following article types, each with specific scope and format requirements:

Original Research Article

Reports novel empirical findings from experimental, observational, or computational studies. Structured abstract required. Maximum 6,000 words; 50 references.

Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis

Comprehensive evidence synthesis following PRISMA or MOOSE guidelines, including a PRISMA flow diagram and pre-registration details. Maximum 8,000 words; 100 references.

Review Article

Expert narrative synthesis of a research field or topic. Expected to be comprehensive, balanced, and to identify gaps for future research. Maximum 8,000 words; 100 references.

Brief Communication

Short reports of focused, high-impact findings. Unstructured abstract. Maximum 2,500 words; 25 references; up to 2 figures or tables.

Perspective / Commentary

Expert opinion on current issues, controversies, or future directions. Original data not required. Maximum 2,000 words; 20 references.

Case Report

Novel, rare, or instructive clinical cases with educational value. Patient consent documentation required. Maximum 3,000 words; 30 references.

Methodology Paper

Description and validation of new research methods, tools, pipelines, or protocols. Maximum 5,000 words; 40 references.
